Yes. Masked Email is a Fastmail feature and this app is a client for it. It does not work with Gmail, iCloud or anything else.
Is Masked Email included with my Fastmail plan?
Yes, on every current plan, personal and business, with no add-on to buy. The app also needs an API token, which Fastmail does not issue on Basic, its entry business plan. Fastmail caps how many addresses an account can hold and how fast you can make new ones, but publishes neither number. What Masked Email is has what they do say about it.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad on iOS 17.6 or later. It installs on Apple silicon Macs and on Vision Pro too, where you get the iPad app rather than something laid out for those screens.
Where is my token stored?
In the app's own storage on your device. It goes to Fastmail's API and to no one else. There is no account with us and nothing to sync.
Can I choose what a new address looks like?
Partly. A prefix set in Settings starts every address you create in the app, followed by Fastmail's own random part. Addresses made through the Shortcuts action do not pick up the prefix.
What does the free version include?
Up to 10 Masked Email addresses created through the app. Pro removes that limit. Addresses already on your Fastmail account from elsewhere don't count toward it.
Can I use my own domain for masked addresses?
Yes, if the domain is already on your Fastmail account. You make the choice in Fastmail, not in the app, and it applies to addresses you make from then on. Choosing the domain has the setting and the trade-off, including what happens to the addresses if the domain later leaves your account.
Can I delete an address, not just block it?
Not from the app: it can only turn one on or off. Deleting happens in Fastmail's own settings; the block guide covers when to use each.
